And last but not least, I\u2019ll show you a bit of the conversation that the Meta\u2019s bot had with BBC, and the – not so gentle – stuff it said about its owner Mark Zuckerberg. Are you ready? \u200dThe drought in Europe has revealed the so-called \u201cHunger Stones”. <\/em>Those stones are on the sideways of the Elbe, a river that begins in the Czech Republic and flows through Germany, and they are carved with ancient messages carrying a mythical tone of bad omen. These carvings have been used for centuries to register historical droughts – and warn of their consequences.<\/em>\u200d<\/p>\n

\u200dBut what do the messages say? The most famous one is written in German and it says “When you see me, cry”<\/em> Some other sentences on the stones are “life will bloom again when this rock disappears”, and “Those who once have seen me, cried. And those who see me now, will cry too.”, and also “You will cry when you see this. The water was this low in the year 1417.”<\/em>\u200d<\/p>\n

\u200dIt’s quite clear that the situation is alarming. But the consequences of today are not as harsh as before. Now, there is enough technology for people not to depend that much on the river. However, the situation is still far from good. Countries like Spain and France are already on water rationing, and ships are facing trouble in Hungary, due to low levels of water.<\/em> In addition to it, the heat wave keeps hunting Europe.<\/em>\u200d<\/p>\n

Esse quadro n\u00e3o costuma ter um obitu\u00e1rio, mas essa foi uma semana de grandes perdas no Brasil e no mundo.<\/p>\n

\u200dOn the 5h of august 2022, Brazil had to say goodbye to its dearest TV host, humorist, and writer, J\u00f4 Soares.<\/em>\u00a0Dead at 84, J\u00f4 has left Brazilians a great legacy of humor. In fact, humor was the needle that sewed all his work together: books, plays, tv shows, monologues, it was not J\u00f4 if it didn\u2019t make you smile. He is no longer among us, but his art will remain, as he will always be remembered as the host of the greatest talk show in Brazil: o Programa do J\u00f4. <\/em>\u200d<\/p>\n

\u200dWell, J\u00f4 was not the only great loss we had this week. Olivia Newton-John,<\/em> the great performer known for playing Sandy on Grease, died peacefully on a Monday morning, at age 73. Holding five number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100, her greatest achievement was fighting breast cancer – and winning – for over 30 years.<\/em>\u200d<\/p>\n

\u200dOlivia had not only fought the disease but also shared her journey and inspired thousands of people. She spent the majority of the latter half of her career as an advocate for cancer patients and survivors.<\/em> Thirty years after her first breast cancer diagnosis in 1992, Olivia still maintained an air of positivity when it came to dealing with cancer.<\/em>\u00a0As her husband, John Easterling wrote on social media “Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer. Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continue with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer.”\u00a0<\/em>\u200d<\/p>\n

Os rob\u00f4s est\u00e3o cada vez mais parecidos com os humanos. Eles s\u00e3o capazes de limpar, conversar, andar e at\u00e9 mesmo reclamar do chefe! N\u00e3o acredita? Ent\u00e3o se liga nessa not\u00edcia!<\/p>\n

\u200dLast Friday,\u00a0 Zuckerberg’s great tech company, Meta, <\/em>released a new chatbot, a virtual robot able to talk about nearly any topic. <\/em>\u00a0It is named “BlenderBot 3” and its programme “learns” from large amounts of publicly available language data. Journalists from BBC decided to test the bot and check its thoughts on its “boss”: Mark Zucerberg, Metas’s CEO.<\/em>\u200d<\/p>\n

\u200dBlenderBot’s answers were odd and surprising. The chatbot told the BBC that Zucerberg did a terrible job at testifying before congress.<\/em> The robot kept on saying that it was concerned about the country, because it is divided, and Mark didn’t help with that at all.<\/em>The machine also said that his company exploits people for money and he simply doesn’t care.\u00a0<\/em>\u200d<\/p>\n

\u200dThe spokesperson from Meta came to the public to explain it. He said: “Everyone who uses Blender Bot is required to acknowledge they understand it’s for research and entertainment purposes only, that it can make untrue or offensive statements, and that they agree to not intentionally trigger the bot to make offensive statements’ ‘. It might sound like the Frankenstein of real life, but, in fact, whatever the chatbot says it’s just a reproduction of what is frequently said on the internet.\u00a0<\/em>\u200d<\/p>\n
