En ingl\u00e9s tenemos algunas palabras y verbos con el mismo significado que, sin embargo, son usados en diferentes situaciones, como en \u00abBorrow\u00bb y \u00abLend\u00bb<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Otro buen ejemplo son los verbos remember<\/em><\/strong> y remind,<\/em><\/strong> ambos significan \u00abrecordar<\/em>\u00bb en espa\u00f1ol y es muy com\u00fan confundirnos sobre el uso de cada uno. Ve cu\u00e1ndo utilizar cada uno de ellos:<\/p>\n

El verbo remember<\/em><\/strong> se usa cuando nos acordamos de algo por cuenta propia:<\/p>\n

I remember the first time we met in Brazil.<\/em>
\nRecuerdo la primera vez que nos conocimos en Brasil.<\/p>\n

Do you remember to practice your English daily?<\/em>
\n\u00bfT\u00fa te acuerdas de practicar tu ingl\u00e9s diariamente?<\/p>\n

En los dos ejemplos arriba, nadie necesit\u00f3 ayuda para recordar.<\/p>\n

El verbo remind<\/em><\/strong> puede ser usado en dos situaciones diferentes:<\/p>\n

1. Con la intenci\u00f3n de no olvidarte de hacer algo o de recordarle a alguien sobre alguna cosa:<\/p>\n

Remind me to call my mom, please.<\/em>
\nRecu\u00e9rdame llamar a mi mam\u00e1, por favor.<\/p>\n

I need to remind my boss to call Kally today, he always forgets to do it.<\/em>
\nNecesito recordarle a mi jefe que llame a Kally hoy, a \u00e9l siempre se le olvida.<\/p>\n

2. Algo nos hace pensar en alguien o nos recuerda a algo o a alguien:<\/p>\n

That song reminds me of my dad, he loves salsa.<\/em>
\nEsa canci\u00f3n me recuerda a mi pap\u00e1, \u00e9l ama la salsa.<\/p>\n

My boyfriend reminded me of the first time we met in Miami.<\/em>
\nMi novio me record\u00f3 la primera vez que nos conocimos en Miami.<\/p>\n
