Las dos son consideradas pronombres, o sea, <strong>reemplazan un nombre<\/strong> en la oraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, la diferencia es muy sencilla. Para comenzar, \u201c<em>whom<\/em>\u201d es utilizado para referirse al <strong>objeto de un verbo o de una preposici\u00f3n<\/strong>, es decir, sobre lo que recae la acci\u00f3n. Vamos a observar:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>To whom did you give the files? <\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n\u00bfA qui\u00e9n le diste los archivos?<\/p>\n<p>En el ejemplo, podemos ver que el \u201cwhom\u201d indaga por <strong>el objeto de la oraci\u00f3n, <\/strong>es decir, por la persona que recibe los archivos. Por otro lado, tenemos \u201c<em>who<\/em>\u201d, que se refiere al sujeto de la oraci\u00f3n, o sea, <strong>quien lleva a cabo la acci\u00f3n. <\/strong>En nuestro ejemplo el sujeto ser\u00eda quien los entrega. Como estamos preguntando acerca de quien los recibe y no de quien los entrega, usaremos <em>whom<\/em>. Mira c\u00f3mo en el siguiente ejemplo, se indaga por el sujeto:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Who will come with you to the office? <\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n\u00bfQui\u00e9n vendr\u00e1 contigo a la oficina?<\/p>\n<p>Si a\u00fan tienes dudas sobre estos pronombres, tengo un truco para ti: Si al responder puedes sustituir a la persona por \u201c<em>he<\/em>\u201d or \u201c<em>she<\/em>\u201d, debes utilizar \u201c<em>who<\/em>\u201d, mientras que, si puedes sustituirla por \u201c<em>him<\/em>\u201d o \u201c<em>her<\/em>\u201d, debes usar \u201c<em>whom<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Who or whom should I talk to about labeling food in the fridge? <\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n\u00bfCon qui\u00e9n debo hablar sobre etiquetar alimentos en el refrigerador?<\/p>\n<p>Ahora, lo que debes hacer es contestar la pregunta usando \u201c<em>he<\/em>\u201d y \u201c<em>him<\/em>\u201d, y analizar cu\u00e1l es el correcto.
