Cassie: Tell me about it!
Jake: And I just realized I lost my wallet.
Cassie: I\u2019m sure we can help you find it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m having such a bad day!
Most of us have a tendency to use the same intensifiers in daily conversation, so today we\u2019ll check out an alternative to help you bring some variety to your speech. \u201cSuch a\u201d is another option you can use. Here are some examples:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You have such a beautiful house, I love the garden!
My sister is such a good cook, she makes the best pasta.
Harry is having such a hard time at school at the moment, we\u2019re worried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I missed the bus to work.
\u201cMiss\u201d is a verb with many different meanings, but here we\u2019re using it in the sense of failing to be present at an event, Jake was not there when the bus came around. Let\u2019s see some examples of \u201cmiss\u201d in that sense:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I missed my brother\u2019s presentation today, I hope I can see it tomorrow.
John missed the train this morning so he was late.
We missed Felix\u2019s soccer game yesterday, he is very upset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m sure we can help you find it!
If you or some other person are certain something will happen, you just have to start your sentence with \u201cto be sure\u201d, to express that idea. This is a common collocation in daily conversation. Check out some more examples:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
